Job Description

- Manage technical activities related to the development and design of automotive components throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plan, monitor, and control program budgets, engineering costs, tooling costs, and project schedules to ensure successful project execution.
- Lead the Product Development Team (PDT) and coordinate cross-functional activities involving Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Design, Sales, Estimating, Accounting, Manufacturing, and other supporting functions.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding technical issues, project status, development activities, and overall program execution.
- Participate in quotation development and quotation review after new business is awarded.
- Coordinate engineering change requests (External RFQs) that impact tooling, product design, manufacturing processes, or product pricing.
- Work closely with Sales and Manufacturing to resolve production price adjustments, sales order issues, cost discrepancies, debit concerns, and other matters affecting program profitability.
- Ensure projects are completed within the approved engineering, design, and tooling budgets.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor the program critical path to ensure all milestones are achieved according to schedule.
- Maintain and update project tracking tools, including program whiteboards and project status records throughout the program lifecycle.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of component designs using a set-based design approach while supporting Kaizen and A3 improvement activities.
- Ensure all customer requirements defined in the Statement of Work are completed accurately and delivered on time.
- Coordinate with the Product Development Team to prepare complete customer submission packages and obtain customer approval by the required deadlines.
- Track, manage, and resolve open issues that may affect successful project completion or customer submission.
- Attend customer build events and provide technical support when required to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Establish project priorities and lead regular program review meetings.
- Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and ensure all project records are properly stored within the designated document management system.
- Comply with company policies, environmental regulations, health and safety requirements, and all applicable internal procedures.
Requirement
- Male, under 45 years old
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive or similar manufacturing industries, preferably in automotive component manufacturing.
- Proven experience managing engineering or product development projects within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of plastic component decoration and finishing processes.
- Ability to review and provide technical feedback on component designs.
- Strong project planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Fluently in English
